Last updated: May 2026. Spec figures sourced from Pragmatic Play's official game info panel cross-verified against the in-game (i) panel at all four featured casinos.
This is the technical reference sheet for Pragmatic Play's Sugar Rush β the original 2022 release, not the 2024 Sugar Rush 1000 sequel. If you want to know exactly what the game's underlying math looks like before depositing β bet ranges, hit frequencies, every published RTP variant, the Feature Buy cost β this is the page. Save it; come back to it; the spec sheet is identical across all four featured casinos and won't change unless Pragmatic Play ships a new game build.

RTP variant table β verify before depositing
| Variant | Posted RTP | House edge | Where seen |
|---|---|---|---|
| Default | 96.50% | 3.50% | All four featured casinos (May 2026 verified) |
| Reduced 1 | 96.00% | 4.00% | Mid-tier offshore brands |
| Reduced 2 | 94.50% | 5.50% | Aggressive offshore margins |
| Reduced 3 | 94.00% | 6.00% | Aggressive offshore margins |
| Reduced 4 | 92.50% | 7.50% | Some unaudited operators |
The visual game is identical across all variants β same 7Γ7 grid, same multiplier mechanic, same Free Spins. Only the underlying RNG weighting changes, and the result is a long-run house-edge gap that ranges from 3.50% at the default to 7.50% at the worst-case build. Over 10,000 spins at A$1 stake, that's the difference between expected losses of A$350 and A$750.
Always click (i) in the game info panel before depositing. All four featured casinos run the 96.50% default at the time of last verification (May 2026). For the deeper breakdown on what this RTP means in practice, see our RTP and volatility article.
Symbol pay table (96.50% variant)
Cluster size determines payout. Values shown as multipliers of the bet for representative symbols:
| Symbol | 5 | 8 | 10 | 12 | 15+ |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Red Heart (top) | 1.5Γ | 6Γ | 25Γ | 75Γ | 150Γ |
| Star | 1.2Γ | 4Γ | 20Γ | 60Γ | 120Γ |
| Yellow Square | 1.0Γ | 3Γ | 15Γ | 45Γ | 90Γ |
| Green Diamond | 0.8Γ | 2.5Γ | 12Γ | 30Γ | 60Γ |
| Red candy | 0.5Γ | 1.2Γ | 4Γ | 12Γ | 24Γ |
| Yellow candy | 0.4Γ | 1.0Γ | 3.5Γ | 10Γ | 20Γ |
| Blue candy | 0.3Γ | 0.8Γ | 3Γ | 8Γ | 16Γ |
| Green candy | 0.3Γ | 0.7Γ | 2.5Γ | 7Γ | 14Γ |
| Purple candy | 0.2Γ | 0.6Γ | 2.2Γ | 6Γ | 12Γ |
Pay table values multiply by the active positional multiplier when the win lands. A 12-symbol Heart cluster crossing two 8Γ multiplier cells pays the base 75Γ multiplied by (8 Γ 8) = 4,800Γ on that single hit. The mechanics of how cluster pays award wins β including why diagonals don't count β sit underneath this whole pay table.
Bet sizing reference
| Bet | Min cluster pay (5 purple candy) | Typical Free Spins payout | 5,000Γ max win |
|---|---|---|---|
| A$0.20 | A$0.04 | ~A$4-15 | A$1,000 |
| A$1.00 | A$0.20 | ~A$20-80 | A$5,000 |
| A$5.00 | A$1.00 | ~A$100-400 | A$25,000 |
| A$20.00 | A$4.00 | ~A$400-1,600 | A$100,000 |
| A$100.00 | A$20 | ~A$2,000-8,000 | A$500,000 |
The "typical Free Spins payout" column shows the middle 50% of Free Spins rounds in our test data β half pay less, half pay more. Outliers reach 1,000Γ and beyond.
Feature Buy economics
- Cost: 100Γ bet (flat, regardless of bet size).
- Awarded: 10 free spins (entry level β same as a 3-scatter natural trigger).
- Effective RTP of buy: ~96.74% (marginally higher than the 96.50% base RTP).
- Variance: Significantly higher than base play. Bust rate (round pays less than 100Γ cost) is meaningful β roughly 30-40% of Feature Buys in our tests recovered less than the buy price.
The math says Feature Buy doesn't give the casino additional edge β but the variance is brutal. Don't Feature Buy with less than 500Γ stake remaining in your account.
Detailed Feature Buy math is in our Feature Buy article.
Free Spins persistence rule β the key spec
The single most important mechanical detail in Sugar Rush's spec sheet:
Multiplier positions persist across all spins within a Free Spins round.
A 16Γ multiplier cell earned on spin 3 stays 16Γ through spin 4, 5, 6, β¦, all the way to the last free spin. If it participates in another win, it doubles to 32Γ and stays there. By the end of a 30-free-spin run, the grid can look like a multiplier minefield.
This is why Free Spins payouts can hugely outpace base-game wins. It's also why dead Free Spins rounds β where no multipliers above 4Γ form β feel so disappointing. High variance cuts both ways.
Sugar Rush vs Sugar Rush 1000 β spec comparison
Quick reference for the most-confused two games in the candy-shop category:
| Spec | Sugar Rush (this) | Sugar Rush 1000 |
|---|---|---|
| Released | June 2022 | January 2024 |
| Grid | 7Γ7 | 7Γ7 |
| Win mechanic | Cluster pays | Cluster pays |
| RTP default | 96.50% | 96.53% |
| Max win | 5,000Γ | 25,000Γ |
| Multiplier cap per spot | 128Γ | 1,024Γ |
| Multiplier progression | 2-4-8-16-32-64-128 | 2-4-8-16-32-64-128-256-512-1024 |
| Free Spins max | 30 | 30 |
| Feature Buy | 100Γ | 100Γ |
| Volatility | High | Very high |
The sequel ships a far higher ceiling but most players don't reach it β high-variance games with 25,000Γ ceilings produce more losing sessions per win-session. The original Sugar Rush is mathematically the friendlier game. See article #12 for the full pick-the-right-game guide.
Demo specs
Demo mode at all four featured casinos runs the 96.50% default math. RNG, hit frequencies, Free Spins behaviour β all identical to real-money play. The only difference is the balance is play money.
You can demo without an account at some casinos directly via Pragmatic Play's site β but the four featured casinos all expose demo from the game tile (no deposit required to play demo).

Quick FAQ
Where do I check the RTP variant? Game info panel β tap the (i) icon, scroll to RTP. Should read 96.50% on the four featured casinos.
Is the multiplier cap really 128Γ? Yes β capped at 128Γ per single grid cell. Multiple cells multiply together when a cluster crosses them.
What's the highest Free Spins payout you've personally seen? In our test sessions: 612Γ stake over 25 free spins, with multiple 64Γ cells active by spin 15. The 5,000Γ ceiling exists but we haven't personally hit it.
Are these specs the same on mobile? Yes β same math, same hit frequencies, same RTP. Mobile is a different display, not a different game.
Does the game have a wild symbol? No β Sugar Rush uses cluster pays without wilds. Only scatter and standard paying candy symbols.
Can I buy the feature on every casino? Yes β all four featured AU casinos enable Feature Buy on Sugar Rush. Some other operators disable it in jurisdictions where Feature Buy is restricted (UK, NL).
Does the Ante Bet exist on this game? Available at some casinos as a +25% bet option for ~2Γ scatter frequency. Not all builds expose the toggle.
